Vetreria di Borgonovo (V B) Vase (Though everyone tries to attribute to Carlo Moretti!). Large elegant curvy hand blown cased opaline glass vase in white, with black brown wavy stripes. Unusual vintage vase by SC.AR pottery of Italy, dating from before 1964. The enamel style finished Harlequin in lots of lovely rich colours especially vivid are the blues and oranges It is marked SCAR No.682 ITALY to the base. Made in Sesto Fiorentino, Tuscany, by students of The "School of Applied Art for Ceramics" which formed in 1873 and initially trained the artisans for factory of the Ginori Lisci family in Doccia. Through many name changes it occupied the same premises for 90 years before wholesale reorganisation and relocation along with substantial destruction of records and objects in 1963. Ideal for collector or as room dressing gift, retro home decor item or interior design statement piece from the early 1960's. MEASUREMENTS:Height 21 cm; Width 11 cm. Weight g. All approximate. CONDITION: Great vintage condition. No cracks or repairs that I can see. Some wear marks and crazing may be found due age and previous use. There is a small production blemish to lower back.New

Imposing jug vase with grey-ochre body capped in gloss brown glaze to neck, rim and handle top. Wings of teal green covered in smooth white foam style glaze form the a band around the body, with further irregular zig zags in the same style in relief below. Base is marked 8850 Mark Hill (Ex Christies, Antiques Roadshow) in his book "Alla Moda" Italian Ceramics of the 50's-70's, shows a similar vase on page 127 The Fanciullacci's were involved in ceramics as far back as 1730 forming their own works in 1862. They moved to Montelupo Fiorentino in 1911, their handmade products leading the post war boom in Italy. Floods in 1966 and competition in the 80's saw them fold in 1988 MEASUREMENTS: Height: 30cm; Width: 14cm; Weight: 1661g. CONDITION: Great vintage condition. Similar items on the web all suffer the same type of chips and abrasive flakes to the reliefs and this is no exception. There is one matched in area on one "wing" (photo) and an tiny chip to the base rim. Some wear marks may be found due to age and previous use. Some irregularities to the clay on the lower matt areas from it's hand made nature.
